Exploring CBD for Veterans

Take the Anonymous Survey (10 minutes)

The NC AMVETS Service Foundation, in partnership with the University of Northern Colorado and Vantage Hemp Co., is conducting a nationwide survey on the effects of CBD (cannabidiol) for veterans.

This 10-minute anonymous survey is designed to better understand how veterans use CBD to manage symptoms related to pain, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and more. The study’s findings may help inform future care and policy for our veterans.

Who can participate?
Veterans with any experience using CBD – whether past or present – are encouraged to take part.

Potential Benefits of CBD for Veterans

Our study—conducted in collaboration with the University of Northern Colorado and Vantage Hemp —investigates the therapeutic potential of CBD for Veterans. Early studies suggest possible benefits such as:

PTSD Symptom Relief

Cannabidiol (CBD) may help reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including flashbacks, nightmares, and hypervigilance. Its interaction with the endocannabinoid system appears to regulate stress responses, promote better sleep, and support emotional stability — making it a potential tool for veterans managing trauma-related conditions.

Chronic Pain Management

CBD is being studied for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, which may offer relief for those living with chronic pain. Unlike opioids, CBD poses no risk of addiction and may help reduce muscle tension, joint pain, and neuropathic discomfort, especially in veterans dealing with service-related injuries.

Anxiety and Depression Support

CBD may support individuals coping with anxiety and depression by influencing serotonin receptors in the brain. Research suggests it can help ease persistent worry, regulate mood, and improve overall mental well-being — offering a natural, non-intoxicating option for veterans and others seeking relief without pharmaceutical side effects.
